All Souls' Day

A Christian day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed. Established by Odilo, Abbot of Cluny in the 10th century, All Souls' Day follows All Saints' Day and is observed with requiem masses, cemetery visits, and prayers for those believed to be in purgatory. It's the third day of Allhallowtide, marking a time of spiritual reflection.

🕐

Daylight Saving Time Ends

On the first Sunday of November, most Americans set their clocks back one hour at 2:00 AM, gaining an extra hour of sleep. This practice, established by the Uniform Time Act of 1966 and adjusted in 2007, marks the return to Standard Time until spring. Hawaii and most of Arizona don't observe this change.

🌎

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos)

In Mexico and Latin American communities, November 2nd is the culminating day of Día de Muertos celebrations. Families create elaborate ofrendas (altars) with photos, marigolds, candles, and favorite foods of deceased loved ones, celebrating their memory with joy rather than mourning. This UNESCO-recognized tradition blends indigenous and Catholic beliefs.
